Sony has released the international
poster for David Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I
really like the poster and sure, it's a bit racy, but it's very
fitting for the film (it might actually be considered tame given
the nature of the storyline). The only thing I find a bit off about
this poster is the positioning of their bodies. Lisbeth Salander is
not the hugging type.
David Fincher was describing this poster way back in February when
he was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter: "-- he takes out an
iPad and clicks on a photo he's planning to use for the Dragon
poster. It shows actor Daniel Craig half-hidden behind co-star
Rooney Mara, who's looking directly into the camera. Her hair is
spiky, her face pierced with rings, her body covered in tattoos.
It's black and white and beautiful, but there's no way in hell any
studio will ever let Fincher use it, as he knows. Because Mara is
naked from the waist up."
Amazon's synopsis: Harriet Vanger, a scion of one of Sweden’s
wealthiest families disappeared over forty years ago. All these
years later, her aged uncle continues to seek the truth. He hires
Mikael Blomkvist, a crusading journalist recently trapped by a
libel conviction, to investigate. He is aided by the pierced and
tattooed punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander. Together they tap into a
vein of unfathomable iniquity and astonishing corruption. [Posters
