THOR Comic-Con Footage with 50+ Stills

By: Steph Sharples
The THOR footage shown at comic-con has been released (unofficially of course) online. I don't know why this is being labeled a trailer considering it's five minutes long and all over the place. Iron Man 2 was like the back of someone's mullet - all party. Thor is the the front of the mullet - it gets right down to business. The footage is dead serious and almost completely devoid of humor (minus agent Coulson and horny Darcy) . There's no ambivalent tone or atmosphere here. Thor knows what it is and is all the more engaging because of that. I was surprised that the CGI involved with creating Asgard was already completed considering the film is still in post production for another eight months or so.

Thor is one of the most interesting Marvel comics for me because of Asgard. Unlike humans, all Asgardians have superhuman attributes and abilities. They age at a slow rate because they eat really delicious golden apples. I friggin love that. Asgard almost feels medieval in its leadership, power division, and communication. For that reason I find it really strange that Thor coexists with other superheroes like Tony Stark and the rest of The Avengers.

My main reservations concern the sets themselves. While they are extremely impressive in their scope, they look a bit fake. I'm sure everything will become more fluid as they continue to work on the film. Anyways, check out the footage below along with over fifty stills.

I bet Thor LOVES Dr. Pepper
